Been to Dover plenty of times, yes, there are a lot of latin people but it's not like you have to lock your doors on your car as you're driving by, there are some restaurants, some stores to shop. I'd rate it neutral, as in not the worst, not the best. Would I live there? well, no, but that's because I prefer more real estate and room for me and my family not because there's a large spanish population and btw, I'm latin.

I agree. It's the least desirable place in Morris County no doubt, but that's not really saying much. It's NOWHERE near a Newark, Camden, Trenton and shouldn't even be spoken in the same sentence with them.

Town Name Changes
Toms River switched from Dover Township because of confusion with less-desirable Dover in Morris County.
Decades ago East Paterson in Bergen County became Elmwood Park (note same initals) to lose the connection with crime-ridden Paterson across the river in Passaic County. West Paterson has considered changing their name for the same reason.

Completely agree. For that reason I wouldn't suggest living in Dover. Unless of course you can associate or relate to illegal aliens.

I'm considering Jersey for the future, and Dover is one of the many places I'm looking at. I just think it's curious many people don't have much negative to say about it but they keep bringing up that's it's heavily Hispanic like it is something negative even when the OP's don't even bring race or ethnicity up. That's just wrong.

I think people are getting wrapped around the axle when people refer to Dover as a Hispanic town.
Although, I am not speaking for these people, from what I have seen, they are not saying "Dover has a Hispanic flavor therefore I don't want to live there." Rather, they are saying something like "Dover has a Hispanic flavor. I wouldn't live there." Though they sound similar, but are two very different things.
Dover is very Hispanic and has a very unique vibe going for it. Would I live there? No. Not because it's unsafe, not because it's hispanic, there are just other places I would rather live. I would say the same thing about Hackettstown, Andover, Vernon and a host of other towns in NJ.

it doesn't matter what language was spoken in the United States before English. when the United States was founded , it's official language was English. and that's the way it should remain. we don't want a bi-lingual mess like what they have up in Canada.
