Ok, I had to check the MLS #. Does this reference the split level in Marlton?

And if we throw townhouses in the mix that opens up even more possibilities.

I've been saving up to own a house since I was 16. People say I'm crazy, but why not get a head start and educate yourself early on about the home owning process?
So many people get carried away when buying there first home, they overlook the unexpected repairs (roof, basement leaks, A/C issues, etc), all the furnishing, THE TAXES!
Some people also rent for way to long without carefully spending their money to be able to own a home in the near future (this is NJ's problem anyway)

I don't plan on owning in NJ, that's just me, but to get back on topic, what's considered affordable?
I don't consider 300K affordable. There's not much under 225K when Buying a single-family home in Newark which is considered expensive in cities like Cleveland, Raleigh, or Houston (and Newark's home-owner rate is still is way below state average)

Really though, this home has some serious charm IMHO.
Also has an underground oil tank.

Hi Everyone!

I found a house right down the street from me for sale. It's the same model as mine, except mine has a big front porch and no bay window on the right side. The MLS # is 929385. Check it out and tell me what you think it would go for in NJ. It has 2851 sq ft 4 bd 2.5 ba. If my taxes are any indication, this house would have a $2200 tax bill. It's considered a "starter" home BTW! Mine is a "finisher" home!

You had to go and post that. Now all of the "but you'll take a 90% pay cut if you live there, and the schools suck, and it's nothing but rednecks, and everyone is stupid, and you're not near NYC and the beach, and you can't find good pizza or bagels, and blah, blah, blah...." posts will start.......

nah. my explanation is much easier. i simply don't wish to live in NC. if cost were the driver of everything, yugo would be the #1 car manufacturer in the US, LOL (no pun intended).

and people, don't jump all over me thinking i'm equating yugo=nc.

Tahiti - I understand completely...and Bob is right - nary a decent bagel or pizza to be found! But my sister and BIL came down last month and dropped off a goodly supply of Taylor Ham!
