Got pulled over for not wearing a seat-belt, which I wasn't wearing--I don't believe in seat-belts.

But when the cop approached my car I was wearing one and told him I was wearing one all along.

How can he prove I wasn't? Is a cops word beyond a reasonable doubt? If so they could just about anyone a ticket.

Not that I really care but the seatbelt law is just dumb. Who the hell is anyone to tell me what I should and shouldnt do with my health? If I want to die in a car accident what is it anyone business? The law makes no sense.

It's fairly easy to see from outside the car. Feel free to plead not guilty and lie on the stand. At that point you will be made aware of any documentation beyond his testimony.

Yeah right--like a cop can see people wearing seat belts going 65+ mph.

You reap what you sow. The judge is simply going to find the officers testimony more credible than yours and you will pay a fine. The dash cam recorded you putting it on in a hurry while you were being pulled over. Don't waste the courts time and just pay the freaking ticket, you will not win your case.

I agree that it is a dumb law. I always wear my seatbelt, but believe it should be an individual choice. It's the insurance companies who wanted this law enacted for the same reasons they pushed for the helmet laws.

I used to feel this way, but if your body goes flying out of a windshield into another person's car because your weren't wearing a seatbelt and you seriously injure or kill the people in the other car, your "individual choice" could have serious consequences for other innocent people.

Wear the seat belt, please.

Let me state normally I wear my seatbelt. The thing is by your logic motorcycles should be banned all together. When hit cant the driver and motorcycle go flying and hit someone?

John if I were u, I would walk, take a train or bus, or a cab. Didn't you post a couple of weeks ago that you received speeding tickets in 3 seperate incidents on the way to work in just one morning? With all the revenue from the tickets u get the state budget crisis will be solved in a couple of months. Keep up the good work.

you Go to court , fight the ticket , just demand a verified complaint on the notice to appear that the cop gave you. just so you know he can't legally comply with the law and give you that document because only an injures party can do this and he was not injured . And all of you out there don't start laughing , it is that easy.
