That looks like its going to be a cool site Brian. What are you going to feature on it. The Irish history in NM or current Irish happenings in NM etc....I know when i studied the Mexican American war of 1846-48? that there was a contigent of Irish soldiers that fought for Mexico as they were Catholic like Mexico so they supported Mexico and when the war was over they were singled out by the U.S. government and hanged. I know Mexico celebrates them annually although i forget where in Mexico and they also had a certain name but i don't recall. I may have to do some internet searching to find out unless you know.

TBH im not 100% sure as of now. I have general pictures, links, bars etc and general information for people going there. Over time, and as people point things out (like you did) that will be added to the site.

Brian.....they were known as the San Patricio's in the Mexican army. My take of them is that most deserted the U.S. army to join Mexico because of their religion as that's why most were severly punished by the U.S. Government at the end of the war. That wasn't a very good chaptor in Irish/American relations back then but it did happen so you may want to research it more and post about them on your site if you wish. I wonder if many Irish served at New Mexico's forts back in the late 1800's i.e. Ft.Craig, Ft. Selden, Ft.Union, Ft.Cummings, Ft.Bayard etc.. are a few of the major forts.
Here's some info about the San Patricio's or St.Patricks Battalion

In Las Cruces a new Irish Pub is opening in April at Picacho Hills. It's called Brigid's Cross and will serve lots of different beers (Irish and otherwise). The bar was constructed in Ireland and hauled over here for our enjoyment. It will be a nice alternative drinking place for the country clubbers out at Picacho Hills.

I have been as sick as a dog the last week and did 0 work on the site! I did launch her however about 5 mins ago.
Irish New Mexico
Still alot of work to put into it, all critique / suggestions would be great! I have left registration of the picture gallery open for you guys so you can register to post pictures of NM (or Ireland) if you so wish, you can also make comments on the gallery too. I will close the gallery registration in a few days to stop spammers registering and posting p0rn. If its closed, ask me and ill register you. As I said, critique away! YOu may need to refresh if all you can see is a holding page.

Nice site Brian as i guess i'm the first to look at the pics according to the counter...lol...
Will you have links to Irish music sites or radio/tv stations etc...I also like Ireland Live.com when i want to listen to irish music.
LiveIreland.com Live Irish Internet Radio + TV from Dublin, Ireland.
Maybe you could in the future have the Gaelic Alphabet on there as that would be cool to compare to ''Modern English''.
Best of luck on the site....
