Ever so often I wander into the New Mexico forum again. Reading your post makes me want to move back! Very funny and true. I miss the uniqueness and beauty. I didn't think a few tons made a great yard but I did think the natural desert was ideal--no mowing. You could tell the people who moved from elsewhere and couldn't give up mowing--they mowed the desert! Just for fun?

I can say 'yes' to almost all of these except #32. Those commercials about the Ditch Witch scared the hell out of me as a kid, so I stayed far away from the arroyos!
A big 'yes' to #49 - I live in Colorado, now, but I've been scouting vacation/retirement property in Taos for the past year (and I'm only 31!). Of course, I take my children back every summer to experience the bluest sky in the US. My most memorable high school field trip? To Santa Fe (Penitentiary).

hehehe, I was watching TV yesterday and I saw an advertisement for some window co. and I saw "Howard Morgan" was the spokesperson. I told my hubbie..."you KNOW you're from NM if you remember Howard Morgan (the weather guy who would draw those little smilie faces on his weather forcasts on the local news station)!

LOL!!! How long did it take you to acquire a taste for hot, spicy food? As I understand it, Irish/various European foods are really, really bland!

TBH it took about 3 months for my stomach to adjust. I always liked it but it didnt like me. Irish / English food isnt as bland as one would think, its just not spiced with Jalapenos or Serrano peppers. I make alot of traditional Irish food with peppers, "New Irish" food if you wish hehe.
