Interesting! I've never seen sopapillas used other than the usual cinnamon/sugar or honey--dessert.

domino ~~ Heck did you HAVE to do that to us????? It's torture...

Cathy,

In almost all the New Mexican restaurants I have gone to ~ most are in Northern NM ~ sopapillas are served as an accompaniment to the meal.

Here in Kansas they are dessert, like they are in Texas.

Default Sacramento Mountains

Spent Sunday and Monday in the southern part of the Sacramento's.
I am in heaven when I am out there..
Went on ATV's on the trails and one day Cheryl was with us.
First time I have posted pics so hope they come through.
Jane

I have never been particularly fond of them, especially after a heavy meal of Mexican food!

That is one thing I really miss here....my favorite Mexican (yes, Tex-Mex) restaurant in Midland. I have a few more here I need to sample, though.

Margo's isn't bad.

I'm posting this here because I don't have permission to post
or start a new thread on the FAQ page:

why do threads get locked/closed?
I've seen them locked with just a few dozen messages or a few
hundred. They generally have degenerated into a kind of Argument
Clinic, but I don't know if the moderators have swooped in and cut
a bunch of comments then locked it.

why can't I post on the FAQ page?
http://www.city-data.com/forum/faq/
Does anyone else here have permission?

Do I just suck?

Mortimer ..Pondered and Puzzled
< Why can't i post on the FAQ page >
Because the questions on there were put there by the Forum Moderators.

You can ask your specific question on the ''About the Forum'' thread.
