Enjoy EP-I am glad you enjoyed the pics of Las Cruces,I've searched the internet for pics of palm trees in Las Cruces and have found pretty much nothing so I had to take a few pics and post them,I also love the palms myself. To me Las Cruces is a good sized city and I really wouldnt mind living there either. If I were a landscape designer I would have Las Cruces decked out with all sorts of palms good for the area and I would do Abq up a little different and add more variations of yucca, cactus and maybe even a few windmills palms, but maybe someday.
I will take some pics sometime within the next 2 weeks of the local palms in ABQ,I love showcasing the palms in NM so I dont mind taking some pics.

the lack of palms is why I did not choose NM. Too bad too, I like almost everything else about the state.

Well, you can find palms pretty commonly in the Southern towns of NM like Las Cruces especially (LC almost has a Scottsdale esque look - very loosely - in that regard), but yep, you are right, once you head north a bit they become much more infrequent (you'll also see a decent share growing in Truth or Consequences but not like Las Cruces, El Paso, Tucson, etc.).
Albuquerque has more palms growing than people realize (mostly Windmill Palms and California Fan Palms) but they are still fairly rare to find.
(Of course 6/3 and I will someday likely be looking for palms in the NM town of Floyd!!! )...

Love the photos NMguy. I want the pickup truck! And your courtyard gave me ideas for my new house's backyard. I'm ready to come home especially after looking at these. As much as I enjoy being with my kids and grandkids and seeing the PA countryside, small towns, history, and architecture, after two weeks gone, I'm ready to come home.

I love New Mexico. When I was 17 we moved from Albuquerque, that was in 1978. I've been back a coup[le of times but no enough. These photos are great, thanks for posting them.

Yep, it could've been "EnjoyNM" too. Actually, it could've been "Enjoy ABQ-LC-EP" as I really love Albuquerque, Las Cruces, and El Paso almost equally. After living in ABQ from 2003-2007 ABQ will always be in my blood, and while Las Cruces is a bit smaller than ideal for me, it is in a good general vicinity to a bigger city which is helpful.
