Nice pictures everyone.

vegaspilgrim - I especially liked the picture of Wagon Mound. One of my favorite landmarks.

My guess is that the pitched metal roof was somewhat of a status symbol in that it had to be imported and required more cost by way transportation and framed rafters vs. natural vigas.

Just my thoughts though, I'm not an expert on the subject.

I'd been thinking "Hara" when I saw your user name so I'm glad I was right Jara! That was an interesting story too!
And those same pitched metal roofs in the northern parts of the state would function well as snow roofs!

Default transplanted to Raton

Here are 2 photos of the sunset tonight. The whole sky looked like it was on fire on the southern part and to the north was beautiful pink and blue. Truly a spectacular sight. It just keeps getting better, everyday that I'm here. Anybody with NM photos?-sunset-092508-004.jpg

Not Texans (at least they shouldn't). Maybe West Texas, but that's different.

Default Antelope around my house

Here's a pic of some of the Antelope that frequent my yard....I don't have a fence up yet so they get pretty close. I had 6 deer looking in my slider this morning...that was a treat.
