Default Doorways and neon crosses

Anybody with NM photos?-mesilla_wall-_las_cruces.jpg Anybody with NM photos?-looking-out.jpg Anybody with NM photos?-neon-church.jpg

I loved Norm's shot of the Old Town doorway. It inspired me to post a couple of doorway photos of my own from Mesilla and Pecos, plus the wonderful church in Las Cruces with the blue neon crosses. I can never get a "just right" photo of the crosses, but I'll keep trying. These were scanned from photos taken with my old non-digital camera.

Thanks for the compliments. I asked my wife to take that picture and she didn't like it but I thought it was great.

clairz and NORM!

Excellent pictures.

I love the pictures of the doors. I love adobe doors and gates, and those are really good ones.

clairz ~ The "doorway" from the ruins at Pecos really brings back memories. We visited there years ago, and I have some pictures taken at that very spot of my daughter, my mother in law and my cousin who lived in Santa Fe at the time and was our tour guide. It's quite a feeling to stand there and look through that opening and imagine Pecos Pueblo hundreds of years ago.

Thanks.

Default Las Cruces, or ??

ahhh. I'm not there right now to check, but is the "Old Town Las Cruces" door (nice shot, by the way) actually in Mesilla? I'm thinking Calle Guadalupe, but like I said I'm not there right now.... where is it? If so, it's a natural mistake..lots of people think Mesilla is the old LC. Mesilleros beg to differ.

Thanks to everyone for the great photos. Wow, too many favorites to list.

Just to clarify something back around page 4, there are some beautiful shots of three lakes labeled "Sacramento Mountains." In fact two of those lakes, Grindstone and Bonito, are in the White Mountains, not in the Sacramentos (about 50 miles away). And Silver Lake is on the Mescalero reservation, not in the Sacramentos. It's close to there but not quite there.
