Thanks to everyone for the great photos. Wow, too many favorites to list.
Just to clarify something back around page 4, there are some beautiful shots of three lakes labeled "Sacramento Mountains." In fact two of those lakes, Grindstone and Bonito, are in the White Mountains, not in the Sacramentos (about 50 miles away). And Silver Lake is on the Mescalero reservation, not in the Sacramentos. It's close to there but not quite there. |

Here's a few from the TorC area.
Pioneer Museum is in Chloride, and the "antelope" was standing in the road on the way. Actually, he was peeing, and took a few minutes before he finally moved! |

Some shots from the April historical re-enactments at the ruins of Ft. Selden, just north of Las Cruces. Gen. Douglas MacArthur lived here as a kid when his father was post commander.

My wife and I finally made our long-awaited trip to New Mexico over the holiday weekend...up until now Arizona was my favorite state, but New Mexico has replaced it at the top of my list.
We were in the southern part of the state. Here are some photos from the Gila National Forest and cliff dwellings. I'm also going to post some other pictures in the Las Cruces forum.Gila National Forest ![]() ![]() Gila Cliff Dwellings ![]() ![]() |

I keep wondering why everybody loves palms so much. These palms by the bank across from the Estrada Civic Center are just plain ugly...and more often than not, this is what so many of them look like.
Yuck. The ones by the post office are just about as bad....there are some pretty ones, but you really have to work hard to find them. ![]() |

Thanks for posting the pics. Your 1st pic is a yucca that has branched out and the 2nd pic is either a Mexican or California Fan Palm, it actually looks very healthy for being in Alamogordo, I just never really pictured palms there, with a little trimming it would look even better. |

Post more of them as they are beautiful....Cathy. I could live by nothing but Palm Tree's and Ocotillo's cacti and be a happy camper

My favorites are the agaves...and of course, the Texas purple sage...and what I put in last May, the Silverados. They're smaller, and they have wonderful little hot pink blooms!! They're just babies now, but I am enjoying them! Harry, I've included neighbors' ocotillos to the north and south for you, LOL!! Sorry for the low resolution. I've resized and cropped them so they won't take so long to load. |
