Wishing for Rain
Just watched a movie yesterday and found that my favorite part was the sound of rain on the roof in one of the scenes. We just had our first measurable rainfall of the year here in Clovis, so I guess that's why I have water on the brain (so to speak).
I dug through my NM photos for shots of rainfall and its aftermath. Here you are. The first three are from the Elephant Butte area--an incoming storm and what happened to the road a bit after.

More rainfall
These next ones are rain in Clovis, rain in Albuquerque, and the aftermath of a storm in Las Cruces:
I used to live in the Seattle area, where we spent our time being waterlogged and chasing giant slugs out of the garden. I never thought I'd hear myself saying this, but I long for some good, hard rain.

Oh God. I can't believe how pristine that 1950 Chevy truck is. I had one that was my 'baby'...bought it in Meford, Oregon, drove it to Michigan for my Dad, it rusted out in 5 years!!! So sad. Miss that custom 5-window beauty. ~Always look for them, and pine when I see them.

In France during that time period, houses were taxed by floors. the area with the dormer windows in the mansard roof was a little icing on the cake. It wasn't taxed. If houses could talk. The person must of been wealthy when he purchased or had such a "Lady Grace" built.

Stumbled upon this thread and thought you might be interested in knowing more about the mansion in Springer, NM, that you admired: Santa Fe Trail New Mexico National Scenic Byway Site

Great pictures, ugga bugga.
I really love that whole area.
I've always wanted to hike up Hermit's Peak. How strenuous is it? (I'm old. )
