Every morning I turn on my computer .... and there are the Jemez Mountains and the view towards Cochiti Lake.
It gives every single day a good start and a smile on my face.

Thank you again.
So glad Towanda,,,, I also have the one posted by TKO of Mt. Sierra Blanca as my background pic...
Sometimes i just fume at the HATERS who say our state is ugly and boring etc..etc..and the best one of all was we are all ''Tax Cheats'' ...lol.....so i try to be positive and show the beauti that our state of New Mexico has from Hot Rugged Deserts of the south to Cool Mountainous Pines to the north from exotic White Gypsum Sand Dunes to the beauti of the Red Cliffs to the old Spanish Capitol of Santa Fe to the old West Ghost Towns of Madrid and White Oaks to the Serenity of the Eastern Plains to the ancient history of the Pueblo and other Tribes for thousands of years and so on ....
I was a 23 year old from upstate NY when I first moved to NM .... and I immediately fell head over heels in love with two things:
1. The beauty of New Mexico from one end to the other .... such diverse and astonishing scenery .. I had never seen anything like it in my life.
2. The history and the culture .... and the ancient feel of the land and the people who have been living here for hundreds of years.
As an easterner, it took me a little longer to acquire a taste for NM cuisine. But now it ranks right us there near the top of my list. Green chile rocks.
To keep this on topic ..... the photos on this thread are so wonderful because they show everyone how beautiful and diverse NM is....
Thanks domino. I don't live in New Mexico, but I've been a couple times to visit friends recently. It's a beautiful place, I have a new appreciation for the desert Southwest. Here's a few from the southern end of the state.
Sierra Blanca from Highway 380 outside of Carrizozo
Sierra Blanca from Three Rivers Petroglyph Site
View looking north from Sacramento Peak, above Alamogordo
Sunset from Sacramento Peak, the picture doesn't do this one justice at all.
Last summer we went around the USA for 3 months & fell in love with New Mexico. We now have our Florida home for sale so we can move there.
Here's a slide show of pics from our trip on the "High Road" from Santa Fe to Taos.
