rnc76, _yb and artsymorgan .... Wonderful pictures, all of you!!!!

You make me wish my move was in the very near future, instead of down the road some.

Artsy ... I hope you will get to make your move soon.

I love the slide show of the High Road to Taos. Been on that road many times...never tire of it. Where do you think you want to settle in NM?

Thank you Harry & Towanda - It's easy to get beautiful shots of scenery in NM! Everyone I know that lives or has lived there just loved/loves it!

Towanda, we are looking in the area of Silver City. We like the desert & the mountains, so that's where we will start. We are hoping for a couple of acres & a mountain view...just like everybody else there probably and we are on a limited budget, so we'll just be "creative". All suggestions are welcome!

I have bunches and bunches of the Grants area. Mostly posted for out of towners, but some just for fun.

Loving the pictures! I have a few to share.

These were taken at the end of July this year, on the way down from Cloudcroft to Alamogordo (on the 82).

This tunnel means you're almost there . . .

It's a beautiful drive. These are some of the wildflowers that grow along the roads. . .

And a bit of wildlife . . .

Just saw this here in the forum. I post a daily 750-pixel-wide image of northern New Mexico every day at www.fotofeed.com, well worth a look.

egglady: Beautiful pictures! Thanks for posting them!

And John Farr: Thank you for posting the link to your photo site. As a lover of Northern New Mexico, I enjoyed all the excellent photos of the Taos area. WOW

Default Hi ,new here in the forum

I'm a native to this great state of New Mexico
and am real happy to have stumbled onto this forum.
I have a few photos of my little piece of our state .
On a map printed before 1973 you will find Scholle
right in the center of the state on US Hyw 60,
my grandfather was the post master of Scholle until
it closed in 1973, the 3rd class post office was in a
corner of our living room, along with a few groceries.
and acouple of gasoline pumps outside, the last price
for gas posted on the pumps was 0.32 a gal.heres a photo
of the store/PO.
and a couple of the sunsets that only mother nature
and our clear skies can paint
