I guess it wouldn't matter .... if anyone can't find it in Cerrillos...they could drive down the road to Madrid.....I think it right on the main drag through Madrid. I was there years ago, and I am pretty positive about the location.
By the way, if you guys ever get over to that area, the BEST route between Santa Fe and ABQ is that "back road" that goes through Cerrillos, Madrid, and Tijeras Canyon. I think they call it the "turquoise trail" now.
It's a very colorful drive.

Kelley's for lunch today. Had to order the green chile cheese burger. Diced chiles instead of whole,(as with Town & Country) but still good. Sure did not leave hungry.

The mineshaft tavern is definitely a place everyone should go to at least once, the one in Madrid. It is an experience! And go on friday or saturday night when they have live music. You will feel like you are in a movie from the wild west...but with s@#$-kickin' tunes!

You need to try Dakota's Steakhouse in Clovis! They are located at 816 Lexington and have an awesome Cheeseburger that you can add a whole strip of Green Chile to. They grind their meat fresh everyday from Certified Angus Beef. Their Patty Melt is to die for with Green Chili added & your Iced Tea is included free.

Yes, the Dakota Steakhouse is probably the nicest place to eat in Clovis. The rooms are quite lovely, especially the one with the fireplace. We were seated in there one year around Christmas and it was beautiful.
They have a great meal that has three skewers of beef, shrimp, and chicken that are served with some grilled fresh pineapple--absolutely delicious!
Thank you for mentioning their green chile cheeseburger--we've never tried it and now we will--quickly, before we leave Clovis.

I have found that MANY restaurants throughout NM will prepare a green chile cheeseburger if you ask them - even when it's not on the menu. For example: the restaurant chain named "Chili's Restaurant" (yep - founded in Texas!) didn't have the green chile cheeseburger on their menu the past few times I've eaten there (in both Las Cruces and Alamogordo), but produced a very tasty one when I asked for it.

We were at the Caverns last weekend, and went to Carlsbad for dinner. There is a nationally renowned BBQ joint (formerly a Dairy Queen) called Danny's. We ordered a little bit of everything, mostly BBQ, but my wife ordered something called a "flip plate", which was a fusion of a quesadilla and a green chile cheeseburger. What an incredible meal. I had to stifle myself by eating only half of it, because of the world class pulled pork that was on my plate.
Anyone who is in Carlsbad owes it to themselves to seek this place out. I even think this restaurant was featured on the Food Network.

Not in Alamogordo.....it varies from very good to dang near inedible.
I've given up on a decent GCC here....I just get a cheese whopper at Burger King....and dig out some chopped green chile from the fridge to pile on.
