When you come up again we will take you out to the waterfall and all the way around on Perch Dr. We did it in a truck with 4WD but not again... only on the ATV.

We tried going to the water tower in the truck and did not make it so we came back down.

There are some folks that question why we want to leave the hill country and the only thing I can come up with is the heat and I feel the need to be around mountains, trees, etc. now. Time for a change.
The weird thing about the tires is it happened twice in one day.
The same thing in Fredericksburg as far as businesses opening and closing or not having what you need when you need it. A couple of months ago when we had flooding, and we had garbage in the streets, I ran over something in my car and my back tire was ruined. I had to order the tire online because I could not replace it here.
Fburg is really pretty, and a neat little town. As Sis lives between San Marcos and South Austin, I will be going through there from time to time over the years. It's a beautiful drive, I think. I leave I-10 at the Harper exit, and go through Fredericksburg, Johnson City and Dripping Springs on the way to her place. But.....I can't tolerate the humidity at all, and have never been able to. It's even a lot more humid in WT than it once was, especially now with all of the extra rain. The flooding was really bad in so many places, wasn't it?

So....I too am ready to see the mountain out the front door every morning when I go out to get my paper!!! All the things to see and do!!!!!

I would be jumping up and down if I were not so tired!!! I am almost finished!!!!

Yep, LOL!!!

I am going up in the morning to take a load up there, and check for bills, etc.

I am looking forward to taking the non-interstate route to see how it is....Midland-Hobbs-Artesia-CC-etc. Since I don't have to be there at a certain time, I can have a leisurely drive, but I'm going to see how it is time wise at the speed limit.

There is 103 mile difference there than going by interstate 20/10/EP/54.

If I can save 45 min, I'll be happy.

Cathy....around 50/60 miles out of Artesia you'll slowly wind your way up for the next 40 miles or so up to 9,000 ft to Mayhill and Cloudcroft as that is a really cool drive along the Rio Penasco. I think you'll enjoy it......

We will be coming back up that way again the weekend and week of labor day (sept. 1-6or7) if any of you all want to get together and talk, have a drink, a meal or something. It would be fun to meet everybody.
