I grew up in Farmington and left in 1978. My mom is in a nursing home and my brother still lives in Farmington.
I always knew Farmington was boring but I had a motorcycle and went up to choke cherry Canyon. I'm probably too old to do that now if I were to move back. There are a lot of things to do in Farmington you just have to use your head. You can go to Mesa Verde National Park you can take flying lessons. Get voted on the City Council so you can change things. They need to build a bigger airport. I can think of a lot of things that Farmington needs to do.

Are there any Afro American professional families in Farmington. How is the health care for a person with an illness. Moving from Los Angeles California. Best area for housing?

I enjoyed your post. I moved to a small town in Arizona from Flint, MI and experienced culture shock too, so I can definately appreciate your post. I would like to know what your job is? I am a Radiation Therapist and there is a job opening in Gallup and I need a job so d*mned bad that I would consider moving there...even after reading your post.
HELP!

Let's keep this thread going for almost 10 years now. One of the greatest things I like about Farmington, NM is it has the lowest-number of natural disasters recorded for the entire United States since 1900. Which means, there's no such thing as earthquake, tornado, hurricane, blizzard, volcano, lightning, monsoon, hail, and heavy drought in that whole area. Only crime you need to worry. Type in Google search, it returns unknown for Farmington. Every other US cities nationwide have natural disaster problems repeatedly.
