Default Cedar Grove or Edgewood

Can anyone explain to me why a home in Cedar Grove, NM, is listed by the U.S.P.S. as Edgewood, NM?
What is the local government for Cedar Grove and Edgewood? Is CG part of Edgewood? If so, why do maps list it as a separate village or township?
Is there a police department for either place, or does the Sante Fe sheriff's office have sole jurisdiction?
What are the muni****l levies, such as property taxes, and are they collected by CG or Edgewood?
Thanks for any explanation and further information.

It's been a while since I lived there full time, but in general:
Cedar Grove is a "separate" place.
Edgewood is now technically an incorporated town with a mayor etc.
The post office for folks over an area of about 200 square miles is located in Edgewood, so that's why someone who lives in Cedar Grove, Venus, Barton, Bachelor or Sedillo might have an Edgewood mailing address.
I don't know if Edgewood has hired any cops yet.
Last I heard, Cedar Grove had not incorporated.
