Electric bills go through the roof because the air conditioning never gets a break, and it's a drag to go outside at 3 AM and start sweating.

You really know how to hurt me, don't you?
I know what you mean there, sort of....Midland is more humid than it was 30 years ago, and many times, the nights would stay hot...I'd go outside at 11:30, and it would feel like a blast furnace!! That was NOT the norm for WT for many years, but in some places, it is. I hated it, too. But that humidity really wasn't a lot compared to DFW.

You'll be here (whether in Alamo or some other location) one day...and you'll enjoy the very late afternoons, nights and early mornings, too!! I have been 20 years getting to this point, LOL!!

I really can't get over how temperate Timberon really is, despite being over 7,000 ft in elevation. Farmington is very often colder than Timberon, despite being around 12-1500 feet lower. Even some mornings in Alamo are cooler.

The only good thing about summer and hot weather is home-grown tomatoes!!!!

Cathy4017: I think Fort Worth is more humid than it used to be too, but it may simply be that with my advancing years I just can't handle it as well. Staying cooped up in the air-conditioning is no way to "get used to it", but I'm not sure that I can (or want to).

songinthewind7: Yes, I think Timberon has about the best climate in the USA. That combination of latitude and altitude just can't be beat. That whole area is nice.

Any rain to report in Timberon yet??
Update on us- We received a variance from the county court finally for our issues on the floodplain, septic/bedroom issues so now we are in compliance and can sell our house. Our buyers have held on till this got straightened out also and we are to close on Tuesday, June 2. Keep your fingers crossed that no other obstacles pop up.

We were supposed to close April 4 and be out April 6 so we packed a uhaul the sunday before, went to timberon, unpacked the truck and came back the next day to close. On the way home, we got a call talking about the problems of the floodplain and septic/bedroom issues and we were not going to close. It's been almost 2 months trying to get this straightened out and living at my brothers house the whole time and finally it's time.
I'm still having nightmares of something else happening before closing but I've gotten my hopes up too many times before we had the money in hand and closed. This time I'm waiting until tuesday and make sure we close and then do a happy dance.
Oh, so yes we are ready to go.
We should be there the middle of June.
