It was right around freezing all day here in Ft Worth, and my electricity went out at 2:20 P.M. and stayed off until 10:30 P.M, due to the freezing rain which coated everything above the ground.I wish we could get snow instead, but it seldom happens here. Naturally, the power went out while I was at the computer. I'm very happy to have more than candlelight again! Not to mention warmth.
Which reminds me of a line from George Gobel: "If it weren't for electricity, we'd all be watching television by candlelight."
I remember some doozy of ice storms growing up in the Ft Worth area (Springtown - about 20 miles west of Ft Worth on hwy 199). I feel for you catman, I really, really do.
Thanks, Soggy in Seattle. It wasn't really a major ice storm; the roads didn't get real bad, and it never got below about 29 degrees, but it was bad enough to bring a lot of tree limbs and power lines down.
Yes, I know where Springtown is! I've been through it on my motorcycle several times.
Here in Fence Lake it is about 30deg and snowing some what wet and soaking in really good....no wind....really need the moisture and as a FF and not looking forward to a dry year this stuff is great...
It has been raining off and on since early afternoon.
Not a lot, but we'll take what we can get. I loved the low dark clouds over the Sacramentos and the cooler temperatures!!
