I'll be a lifetime learner no matter where I live. I feel sorry for people who don't find new interests as they progress through life. What's the alternative? TV? Drinking?

Sometime in the next 0-4 years I'm going to give up working forever and spend the rest of my time learning new things. I don't know if I'll succeed as an amateur artist, but I've always had an easy time drawing stuff and art ability runs in my family. If that doesn't work out I can still collect art to decorate my home, and I can explore other interests. And anyway, it's fun to look at art even if you aren't buying it.

Sounds good to me lovehound. By the way I gree up in Northridge, CA. I left thee about 28 years ago and only go back to see my brother once in awhile. I think you'll enjoy New Mexico. Northern is where I would love to live.

Wish you could be here on the 10th. It's Heritage day at Casa San Ysidro in Corrales. Lots of local artists, food and entertainment. I'm going to do sales and demonstrations, but I get some breaks so I'll try to get some pics.

I'm seriously considering moving to Santa Fe and if I do it I can come to every Heritage Day.

Please don't torture me with New Mexican food!!!

Lovehound - Northern New Mexican cuisine is regarded VERY highly as perhaps the best the southwest has to offer. Its about red, not green, local chile. Get yourself The Brown Adobe Cookbook. It's wonderful!

Sounds like you've had a primer on this already. Isn't "Christmas" what you say when you want both green and red chile on top of your enchiladas? Thats how I like mine. Droooool

Yeppers Sockeye. You got it. And I haven't heard of the Brown Adobe cookbook but I read the cookbook put out by the owner of the Pink Adobe. Ate there too. Good place!

(Just checked. My library doesn't have any such title.)

I stand corrected. It's titled The Brown Adobe SAMPLER by Julienne V. Brown 1988 published by The Brown Adobe Inc. It has my favorite recipe for Green/red chile stew. Happy munching!

Nope. Can't find it in the Los Angeles library, nor Santa Fe either. Don't worry. If I move to Santa Fe I'll have plenty of time for Christmas stew.
