Default Cibola Wins District Title

The Cibola Cougars beat Rio Rancho tonight in a close game 35-21. The Rams put up a fight with the score bieng 21-21 at half time, but the Coogs prevailed in the end and came up with the Win. Rio Rancho has won the title the last 3 years in a row and lost it tonight. I have to admitt the Rams showed that they step up to the plate under pressure but Cibola proved that they were too much for the Rams tonight. It lookes like Cibola will get a bye in the playoffs, im not sure if its giong to be a 3 or 4 seed but I am confident they get the bye.

I watched the Las Cruces vs Mayfield game which Mayfield won 14-7 but it was a sloppy game as there were lots of penalties and fumbles and guys wide open in the End Zone only to have the ball tossed over them. My thoughts were that both teams seemed to be intimidated by each other so the offenses just never really got to cranking out yards.

I'm glad Alamo beat Gadsen 35 to 7 as they needed that win after losing 3 in a row.

How about Los Alamos beating Bernalillo 95-0.

Congrats on the district champs.

Dist 1 ...Cibola ......9-1
Dist 2....La Cueva...7-3
Dist 3....Mayfield....9-1
Dist 4....Clovis.......7-3
Dist 5....El Dorado..8-2

The Game was sloppy. Cruces blew so many opportunities...but something tells me we might see a Cruces vs. Mayfield championship game.

Thanks but we'll really need to play well to have a chance. We need to play like at the begining of the season when we were doing very well before our end of the season slump.

As for Cibola i think people are underestimating your team as the only team to beat you was a very good Clovis team at Clovis 13 to 12 correct? Coach Judge Chavez is a very good head coach. Most of the whole team was juniors from last years playoff semi-final team so there is alot of experience along with a HUGE offensive and defensive line.

Right. Clovis beat us 13-12 in Clovis at their homecoming. I do think people may be underestimating the team but the team will have a chance to show everyone what they are made of in the playoffs. If we get through to the Semis our real test will be MAYFIELD!!! If we play them there is not much room to make mistakes. But I think the best thing to o is to take it one game at a time.
