Its 28-22 haftime with Rio Rancho leading. Their QB can really run . Artesia's QB will probably throw 50 to 60 passes before this game is over. Artesia has an impressive stadium....

Yeah Rio's QB (Murphy) got hurt in the second half. Was a good game though....
Artesia 42
Rio Rancho 35
Hometown score.....
Alamogordo 29
Highland 14
We are now 3-0 but i have to admit that Las Cruces High 3-0 which is in our district is very powerful this year.
YB...Rio is on NMAATV again next week against Las Vegas Robertson....

I actually thought it was a very good game. The backup QB looked really good for RR. I think he will be a good one. I think the play by play guys said he was a sophmore.
A team that can put up a great defensive effort against Artesia will give them trouble. I'm not sure that there is a 4a team out there that can do that.

My brother in law lives down in LC he says that LC is loaded this year. He claims that they could win the state title this year and next. We shall see. Mayfield is having a down year.

Looking forward to it. Clovis and Artesia will be playing on ESPN soon. Should be a good one.

Las Cruces is the hotbed of NM football.
LC is very good this year.
Mayfield is not having a down year, they are 3-1 and the one loss was to a very tough E.P. Texas team.
Onate is having a rough year. 2-2 and some coaches just got suspended for something.

Highland grad here. Someone bring me up to speed. I'm too lazy to check online (and I don't want to pay ABQ Journal for an online subscription). Do the Hornets got their A-game this year? Or are they just another ABQ team? Thanks.

Yeah Ibarrio ....as i think Las Cruces vs Mayfield winner will probably play Cibola for the title in 5A. I'm still fuming that Alamogordo (4-1) lost to Carlsbad 28 to 27 as our all state kicker missed the extra point to tie and then we recovered the onside kick only to miss again a field goal to win from 25 yards out.
