I agree with Domino that southern/eastern New Mexico have ruled in tradition in football. Look at how many titiles Artesia and Clovis have. Although i will give the north the tradition in Basketball as it rules in ABQ and other communities around the northern part of the state.
When i first moved here 13 years ago attendance was bad with the exception of Highland Hornets with All American Bobby Newcomb (Nebraska QB) as i was surprised that the high schools do not have their own stadium. I'm guessing but out of 29 metro high schools in El Paso i believe 22 have their own stadiums so there is a real feel of playing a home game and that garners more interest.
Now i do see football really growing as the west side schools of Cibola and Rio Rancho rivalry is exploding along with the new school Volcano Vista and also the other 2 under construction (southwest and cleveland). So ABQ high schools need some stadiums besides Milne and Wilson stadiums and also another new neutral stadium going to be built at Paseo Volcan Blvd on the west side will help out.

Friday nights NMAA game of the week is Eldorado vs Manzano as both are playoff bound so it should be a good game.

I know that Gallup has a decent team but does anyone know how good they really are? Who beat them and how close do you think the game will be when they play Cibola tonight?

Question???
So if in fact Mayfield happens to beat LC in thier game next week. Wont that just switch them in the 1 and 2 rankings Mayfield would be first and LC would be 2nd?
