Wow amazing. Imagine seeing the world from his eyes? That moment when he step out of the shuttle must have felt amazing.

I guess this sets a new meaning for the old phrase: "Watch that first step, its a *****."

In the FWIW department a company called Armadillo Aerospace just launched a satellite from the Spaceport and, here is the amazing part, landed the first stage booster on an oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico! They recovered the booster by having it descend by parachute and glide to the platform and then land on its tail standing upright. That is a major first.

That was scary to watch particularly when he started tumbling. I was afraid we'd lost him. Glad he made it.

I almost never get a chance to use that adjective. You spoiled it for me.

I was "amazed" that he was able to come down so close to his original launch point. At one point in the live broadcast he was being blown along by the jet stream at 3-digit ground speeds. It obviously was a perfect day for the event, to say nothing of happening on the very day when Chuck Yeager originally broke the sound barrier for the first time in an aircraft.

I could see the balloon from Ruidoso - and was surprised that it wasn't higher in the sky in spite of my horizontal distance from it.

Cool.. but i can can't find anything about that.

This is the only recent thing I can find and it didn't exactly land well. Maybe the don't update their homepage often?
