I call Albuquerque Albuturkey but I don't mean anything derogatory by it. To me, it's just a cute way of saying it.

LOL!!! I read somewhere about a little kid who used to call Albuquerque ==> Albucookie.

I know UNM is not a city or town, but I know a woman who went to UNM and instead of calling it University of New Mexico she called it University of No Money(UNM).

"The Land of Entrapment" instead of "The Land of Enchantment."

When some relatives were driving across the country to visit us, they said they'd call us once they crossed into New Mexico. When they called they said, "We're in Ratt-en" instead of pronouncing it "Ra-tone." I've also heard out-of-towners pronounce Belen "bell-in."
