I can appreciate why one may think they are the most beautiful mountains they have seen in NM, the States, or anywhere. They certainly are unique. Rising from the desert valley with those sharp pinacle granite peaks, the Organ Mountains certainly are a very spectacular range to look at. I coudn't keep my eyes off of them when I was in Las Cruces. Every time they came into view I would take an extra second to stop and stare.
Sierra Blanca is probably my single favorite. Sandias are beautiful, but so are the Organs. Also the Sacramentos in Alamogordo, and the Chukas on the Navajo Reservation are beautiful as well.
IMHO yes, they are the most beautiful in southern NM.
