I'm not into basketball but glad that NM is getting some attention.

Yes, Song, not only did New Mexico have two teams in the tournament, but the first round of the West Regional games is in Albuquerque, which is bringing some nice $$$$$ and publicity to the ABQ area.

Yep, UNM is still in it at this point. The other NM team was eliminated by Indiana, a perennial powerhouse. No surprise there.

I was lucky to secure tickets with an Albuquerque friend of mine to the 1983 NCAA Championship game (North Carolina State vs. University of Houston.) The game was in Albuquerque. I'd been in The Pit before so I knew how the atmosphere would be for this game, which NC State won 54-52. That game was and still is one of the most talked about NCAA basketball championship games ever. The rocky mountain states had gone through a recession through President Reagan's first few years in office and this game was a shot in the arm towards Albuquerque's economy.

I hate to be pessimistic, but the Lobos are hurting-because Gordon is hurting. That was a nasty fall he took, and that knee??

Still take your hat off to the Lobos, down by one 26-25. And NM's coaching staff is standing up to Rick Pitino. Pitino has been one of college's best coaches for years.

Drew Gordon needs to be on that floor. Don't know if that will happen.
