Default Wanting To Move To Either L.C. - Deming - Alamagordo - La Luz or Cloudcroft Area

Hello everyone, I'm just going to jump in here, My name is Tim P and I have fell in love with all of New Mexico. So I would like to pick everyone's brain on moving to either L.C. Deming Alamagordo,La Luz or the Cloudcroft area, as I'm a long time 58-years of living in Maine, east coast, cold winters short summers, no real spring but nice fall season. Two years ago We made Our first road trip out from Maine,4 day ride, stayed in Tucumcari first night route 66, loved the old time neon hotels, sad because of the way its gone by. We stayed in Las Cruces for 4 days at the Americas best value inn, the owners were real nice and caring and really enjoyed Them. I love the feal of the Mexican vibe and People We met, the farmers market, the Pink Store. I love the year round weather in winter there compared to Maine, blue skys, low humidity etc.I like the slower pace ,west feel, so much room to ride My motorcycle year round.Any way We are going out again in May to check out Taos, red river, go hangliding in Albuquerque,as We went to check out towns to retire to. After I hope 2 days around Taos We will go to Lc around the southwest portion as those are My choices as to Albq. So can You all give Me Your imput on Alamagordo, cloudcroft,Deming or Las Cruces to retire too... Thanks very Much Tim the Mainer

Please give us a bit more info on what you are looking for in a town or what your needs are.

Cloudcroft is a small mountain town about 16 miles from ALamogordo. CC normally has cold winters and mild summers. Alamo has mild winters and hot summers. Las Cruces is about an hour away from Alamo where more shopping and restaurants can be found.
