Default Nervous Gramma

Is anyone familiar with the Raton NM area? My grandson and I will be traveling by Amtrak the end of May and will have a 6 hour layover in Raton. Is the station area safe? Could we walk somewhere from there to eat or shop or sightsee? Thank you in advance!

Yeah its safe. Its not much of a train station to be fair, more of a stop. There is a restaurant and some shopping within walking distance, just don't expect a whole lot.

Very beautiful scenery there -- I would not be afraid at all.

I don't think that you will have any problem in Raton. Enjoy the Amtrak trip to Raton.
