We'll be moving to Capitan tomorrow. Haven't closed on the house but we will be renting it until we close. Offline until Thursday evening starting tonight.
As time goes on, I will let you know my impressions of Capitan.
Jim, just moving out of the rental was rough. I didn't realize we had so much stuff there. We still need to move the stuff out of storage but we're waiting to close on the house before moving it.
Hope to see you all in a few weeks.
Thanks for the good luck westerntraveler.
This is my 3rd night here. Haven't had much of a chance to explore yet but it's been a lot of years since I woke up to the sound of a rooster crowing. I guess someone in this neighborhood has one. Good thing I like roosters.
Loving all the Smokey Bear stuff around Capitan and Ruidoso.
Hey Cheryl, Congrats on the move! Capitan is a neat area for sure. Assume you've found the cool coffee house (can't remember her name, what the heck is it?? anyone??), and keep us posted on the good eats and other things you find there.

I'm wondering if you're referring to the one in 'zozo that was begun by Joe and Carla Organist and called 'zozo Joe's' by most locals? Not to say there isn't one in Capitan too, and I'm not familiar with it.
Haven't found a coffee shop here yet but I was surprised at going into Smokeys Market the other night. Seeing it from the outside in the past, I thought it was a small convenience store but we went in there the other night to pick up a couple of things and it's a regular sized grocery store with a lot of food. They even have my kind of coffee which is hard to find, the chicory stuff.
I like it here. Gotta meet some people though.
