Default Visiting NM by PC

I just finished reading Tony Hillerman's "Sinister Pig". Then I opened Google and used Street View to visit the areas in the book. The Bootheel is amazingly empty and the Navajo Reservation east of Crownpoint not much more populated. Both are starkly beautiful.

Street View is a wonderful tool for short visits.

Anyone else use this tool to visit their favorite places?

Google Street View is a wonderful tool which demonstrates today's technology (I use to work with military II's {Image Interpreters)). But it can be misleading at times... Youtube videos of certain areas can also be helpful...

I used it before we moved out here, so I could get a look at the area. Also, like to just type in the name of any city and look around. Great way to travel without leaving home; as are Youtube videos.

Google Earth is a great program also.

I confess I use it a lot but I don't like that they can photograph anything, including my house, without permission.

My house is my palace, my castle. On streetview it looks more like a shack, which is closer to the truth. Ouch.

I use it to get a look at the area around motels that I'm considering in my travels.

Right. I have wasted many hours watching videos of hikes taken in the Sandias and Manzanos.
