Default Winterize 8600 altitude cabin by when?

Mountain cabin between Taos and Angel Fire at 8600 feet above sea level. We winterize it each fall. The contractor doing this for me is planning to do it late September. Is this typically early enough to avoid freeze damage to water systems in a home that is left un heated at this location and altitude?

Thanks!

If there is no plan to use the cabin before the end of September, it would make sense to winterize it as soon as practical. Freezing nights can begin mid-September but likely not low enough long enough to do damage, and not every night. BUT... you can never outguess Mama Nature.

No plans to use it but contractor is going hunting from Sept 1 until Sept 20 and will winterize it when back. Thanks for the comment and link
