They are expecting 100,000 people for this event. I will be staying as far from it as I can be. Though we have been informed that a majority of the valley fire/EMS folks will be tied up for it so the mountain departments need to be prepared to handle calls down the hill. Not my idea of a fun weekend

I was planning on visiting the Alamogordo area this weekend as part of my visit to southern NM to look at various areas. Needless to say , I cancelled that visit when I heard about the 100,000 folks decending on Alamo from all over the SW USA. Not my idea of a good time to visit the area to see how it normally is in late Oct. This will be an abnormal weekend for the area IMHO.

The raptor is an amazing plane. I got to look one over a while back. They didn't want me to take pictures of the cockpit but they allowed this.

I wish that I had known my camera better because the flag between the tailfins sure made me proud.
One more

Jim,
When will you go out? Or you just going to avoid Alamo? Switch your days around and check out Alamo after the week-end. I would hate you to miss it.

Yes, Jane I plan to arrive in Alamo on Nov. 7th. Will spend time both in the general Alamo area and then also over in the Silver City area. Want to check out Capitan/Ruidoso also before my return. I need to be back in IL for Thanksgiving dinner at my sisters.
One problem I am encountering is the question of financing a manufactured home. Is there a difference in financing between a permanent foundation home and a non permanent foundation home.? I have seen this referenced in several ads on specific homes. I have been counting on getting a regular mortgage at current rates just like on a stick built home. But perhaps that's not possible.??
I would appreciate help from anyone out there on how financing and taxes work with manufactured homes. Guess my assumption that it would be like a stick built home may be wrong.
Thanks much for any info.

Jim,
A lot will depend if there is a permanate foundation or not. When the axels are still on the mfg or moble home you can move them, and the bank is not happy about that. Will send you some info later this am.
