Hi Rich! rwjoyak's right, I started working at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in January 2013. So far I like it, the work is challenging, busy, tiring yet still rewarding. I'm in the heart and lung department, everything from emergency care to ventilator care, to cardio-rehab, echocardiograms (I don't do those, but someone else in the department does). EKG's, ABG's, breathing tx's, lung exercises, etc.

They do operations there, a fellow workmate fell off a ladder and needed ankle/foot surgery(serious reconstructive surgery was required, it was done there at GCRMC, and done well). We are a regional hospital, so we serve a lot of different people with different varying interests and needs. The goal is to provide people with a local option for care, so they don't have to travel to Las Cruces, NM, or El Paso, TX. I would check out things further for your specific needs. You never know, we might provide you with what you want, perhaps even when you want it!

Just a few thoughts.
They recently went through bankruptcy and layoffs. My understanding from knowing a lot of people associated with the place is that the second round of law suits is on the horizon.
That being said, I can't speak higher of the folks at the front desk, the lab, and folks back in the x-ray sections. Great people and they do a great job.
Emergency room on the other hand, not so much. I would not use the ER for anything but a stoping point on the way to Las Cruces or Ruidoso
