Thinking of relocating to deming. I'm an RN in an operating room and was wondering if there was anyone out there who works in the hospital there who could tell me how they like it. Also is there any apartments for rent?

My wife and I were there 2 years ago and liked the town - it's drawback for us was we're not retiring and didn't see much prospect for work for her [I'm and artist so doesn't matter where I am]. Luna Co. is low population, and the town is small, but we found the people there extremely nice.

A coop art gallery and at that time one contemporary art gallery, nice mix of small town businesses - lots of new houses to the east of town, a gated development I recall. We liked it a lot, it's in a good location; plenty of sun, not too far from mountains to north, Tucson one way, las cruces the other.

The chamber of commerce had lots of info for us, I'd start there if I were you.

For local info: demingchamber.com/ I don't know anything about ranchettes, but do recall some info on the NM artist thread about property size requirements etc. for Luna Co.
Deming is so small I'm not sure it matters where you are - we noticed some empty city lots in town, the construction on the east side was very small lots, tiny, and the per sq. cost of them was absurd to us. Renting and realistic construction cost I'm not sure of the $ there. As we're not retiring we didn't look any harder in Deming, but shifted our focus to Las Cruces and Albq. areas.
