Solar LED Road Stud Reflectors for safety
If I can think of any state that can use these, New Mexico state highways certainly can, at least on curves, and practical because they're powered by the sun. It'll help those that have tombstones in their eyes from driving.. ..driving.. ..driving.. ..at night.....
Solar LED road studs reduce accidents by 70% : Yahoo! Green
My wife drives from Texas Tech twice a week, and she feels safer while on Texas roads ( better funding to put down stripes, and then some ), but once she crosses into New Mexico, weak, faded reflective striping paint, if any at all. I understand that New Mexico is not a rich economy, at least we can reduce and/or be a model for statistics proving that these LED markers can help in critical areas. I've sent an e-mail to NMDOT about this.

A well-striped two lane at night is like playing a video game. An unmarked road at night in strange country will keep you alert and can be terrifying or fun depending on how your nervous system is wired.
I want to take the road to Mogollon on a full moon night someday.

Coastal Maine 2 lane on a moonlit foggy night can make for memorable experiences. Specially when you add a couple of Moose. Those buggars are everywhere around here.
