Are you a native New Mexican with a bucket list? Maybe you've just been meaning to do these things (tourist-trappy though some of them may be) for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. Here's a list of 20 once-in-a-lifetime things do to in New Mexico.
As long as emphasis remains on "start with" I can agree with it. But as with other threads containing "lists" there is much room for argument about what the "top ten (or 20, or 100)" should refer to. Everyone is going to have their own favorites and a variety of reasons for their choices, beginning with personal knowledge/experience.
I've only done five of the items on the list. My top 20 would be bit different. I don't have time to come up with a list right now. I'd add watching a New Mexico sunset.
I have done almost everything on the list from northern, NM.
Get cast as an extra, though? Give me a break. That is hardly a unique New Mexico experience and virtually unattainable for everyone who would want to do it.
Not sure why anyone would want to visit Hatch when Hatch can come to you on a plate.

Well, after 30 years in the same location in Old Town, Debbie Ball, "Candy Lady" was told in an eviction hearing by a Metro Court judge Frank Sedillo yesterday that she had to vacate the building by Feb. 28, 2014. In court, Ball’s landlord, Robert Simon, said that the eviction was the result of Ball’s failure to enter into a written lease.

Great list! I've never heard of a lot of these things and want to try them. The Catwalk Trail looks amazing.
Do you know if there are guides that take you down the Taos Box? I'd love to do it, but I'm nowhere near experienced enough to do this without a guide.
Mogollon Road...is that HWY 159 in Gila?
