Hi,

I was wondering if any of you have a title of a really well done video that shows off New Mexico. The ones I got from the library is grouped with other states. There is scant attention paid to NM largest city.

For that matter do you have a title of any really great NM books with pictures that shows off the natural beauty and people?

I've got the compass guide and it is really beautiful and I'd like more.

Thank you,
Linda

The North East New Mexico Tourism board (Region 4) made a DVD about the North East. I think the Tourism Dept made a DVD too, but im not 100% sure. I know the Tourism Dept did make a pretty nice screensaver with a bunch of pictures on it.

Thanks BrianH. The Tourism Dept. says they don't have a dvd, but they do have video to watch from your computer (I can't make mine do it though), and the NE NM Tourism, I didn't see their video offered, but I would really want the whole state covered.

Maybe someone else has a video they've seen?

The state is split into regions for promotion, so im not sure if the other regions did a DVD or not. Did you ask abou thte North East DVD ? Its not strictly a the north east corner, it ranges from Raton (North) Clayton (North East), Pecos (west), and as far down south as Santa Rosa and Vaughn. Try and hunt one down. I know all the visitor centers have one you maybe be able tog et a hold of it.

Go rent the movie Silverado. No shots of cities, but some of the best landscape scenes ever filmed in New Mexico. It was filmed around Santa Fe, I believe. And a great movie!

I think the movie Red Dawn was also filmed in NM, but I'm not sure.

You might be thinking of the 1971 movie Red Sky at Morning which was set in Taos, but filmed around Santa Fe.
The Milagro Beanfield War was filmed around Los Alamos, Espanola and Truchas.
There is also a 30-minute video on NW New Mexico called "Remembered Earth" that has been making the rounds on PBS stations this week.

ABQStyle dotcom has just the most beautiful pictures of ABQ and surrounding areas. Also wallpaper, and an all around orientation guide to living in ABQ. This is a really neat site and I'm glad I found it.
