Mtncat,
How did you get that close, or do you have a great lense?? I havn't seen one for a while. I love seeing them, but don't want to be near one! Where was he, so I can keep a look out for it?
Jane

Jane this was taken with my little nikon cool pic camera. Not a big lens. He was about 35 yards away when it was taken.
I think the reason he was so close is they had a hunt for them this weekend the other side of the range. He knew that I was after other things today and he was safe
I think they read the same guidelines the hunters get (but they get the early eddition) so they know where to be and when to be there
He was between Alamogordo and Las Cruces, WSMR

Mtncat,
What were you after? And I agree they do know when the hunts are..LOL But the deer back in IL do the same for my DS. I have heard that they are good eating, have you eaten any?

Jane, they are excellent eating. I don't care for them as much as I do elk but then I would rather eat elk then just about any game animal.
I was out after the coyotes, did not think it would be "P.C" to post those pics

Yup, there is some talk about the grey wolf. I think that it will cause more problems then they know what to do with.
Lot's of coyotes around. That was a bad day, too much wind to make for good calling.
On a good day in that area you would expect to call in 20 or more, we only got 4 to come in that day.
