Default Alamogordo and Ruidoso

Any health food stores, organic markets or farmers markets?

Yes!! There are at least two farmer's markets (neither of which I made last summer)--Alamogordo and Tularosa.

There is a neat health food store on the north end of White Sands....Nature's Pantry. It is really well-stocked and clean. It won't compare to Austin's stores, but it is really great for this small town. You should see it as you come in from Cloudcroft.

How are things in FBurg? Any bites on the house?

They are on NY downtown, too. I guess they are the same people, but not sure, as I haven't been to that block yet.

It is on the left side as you go north down White Sands.....I think right past Indian Wells Rd.....the old Ramona's restaurant is nearby.

And yes, I do believe that GNC is at the mall, but they don't seem to have anything other than vitamins/supplements/protein powders--Nature's Pantry on WSB has supplements, shampoos, dried beans, grains, a refrigerated section of a few organic foods/veggies, Bob's Red Mill stuff.....I got some stoneground cornmeal, unsweetened coconut and some almond meal there yesterday. They have just about anything you could want!

For its size...and a town this size, it's really very well-stocked!

Thanks for the info Cathy....thats good to know about a large Natures Pantry as i can't beleive i never noticed it where you told me over by the old Ramonas as i know where your talking about. Yeap i used to buy all my bodybuilding supplies at the GNC at the mall.

I wish Alamo had a Bank of America there as i do all my banking with them so if i move back i may have to change banks. I know they have branches in El Paso and also in Clovis.

It's a very nice place. I was impressed with the store myself. They have a bar where they serve something, probably juices/smoothies...I didn't look, LOL!!

I lucked out in the banking....Wells-Fargo. I'm even using up my old check stock, and just adding the new address.

Cathy.....have you been to the NM MVD office in Alamo yet. Just wondering if it's a nightmare there as i've heard some of the locations outside of Albuquerque are bad or super long wait times. There's is one in Tularosa so i probably would go there if i move back to Alamo.

But i really like the MVD Express offices up here as yeah you have to pay an extra 15 dollars for auto tags etc...but i have never been in there longer than 10 minutes and they are also friendly as it is a business and not state employees.

Nature's Pantry sounds like a nice place.
Walmart doesn't sell any organic type foods so I was just wondering. Fresh veggies would be nice also and the organic milk is a must. Meats would be nice to have too.
Harry, any of this stuff up in Albuquerque you can recommend? We'll be up that way on occasion to visit Charlie's mom.
No bites on our house yet. Things are dead here in real estate.

Nature's Pantry has completely moved from NY Ave. to its new location. For a time, both stores were open, but now there's only the new one. There's also a small farmer's market in High Rolls, though I'm not sure it operates in winter. For the MVD, go up to the CC office. I have yet to see a line there.
