Default Lovington or Hobbs? or in Lea County

Looking for a nice area to move with family. We are from out of state and are wondering if anyone can kindly give some feedback on either of these two places. If your feedback can provide some specifics on area by name or geographical location (north, south of...) would be nice and greatly appreciated.

You didin't mention as to why your locating out there but from what i know it's really Booming out there do to the oil industry is thriving and Hobbs and Lovington have numerous amounts of people employed in that industry. Also the new multi billion dollar Nuclear Enrichment plant is currently under construction in Lovington. They also have the newest Race park and Casino in new mexico so alot is happening there.

I hear a common complaint is that there are not enough new housing and apartments being built for all the new population who's moved into the area. Very rare to see someone post on hear from Hobbs but thats my take on it.

I think living accomodations is the biggest detractor. Most housing is old 30+ years or is trailors.

For me, I'd just build a house for myself and build a small apartment complex as an investment.
