Exclamation S. Sunset-Roswell; safe?

Is 1515 S. Sunset Roswell, NM 88203 a nice place (nursing home) and is it located in a "good", safe area. We are out of towners looking for placement and I am weary after reading all the negative tips! Just curious if this is in a safe neighborhood and a nice nursing home.

Thanks!

Default Roswell is Safe

I go to Roswell all the time and i think it has the Nicest People of anywhere as for crime im not sure that its as bad as people make it out to be. The Worst thing ive seen was a Couple of years ago some kids driving Recklessly through Main Street. If you want to see Crime take a Walk down Central anywhere in Albuquerque. Or Go to Los Angeles in 69 there were people wanting money and kids selling Drugs on the Street and i managed to get into Fight because i wouldnt give the Thugs Money and that was withing 15 minutes of going for a Walk in the Middle of the day with Glassy Eyed people everywhere. >>>> Ive never seen this in N.M. not even in Albuquerque. Roswell is Safe but it doesnt hurt to Rent or Rent to own until you find out for yourself. el pintada kid

My wife and I moved to Roswell over two years ago. It is affordable, the schools are good, but it is important where you live. The high schools are very comprable, with the main difference being that Roswell High is better at math and science and Goddard is better at the arts. Both are solid high schools. As for crime, stay out of SE Roswell and you'll be fine. It sounds like some of the posters had different takes on this, but as you'll notice, one was a DA---who sees everything bad---and another hasn't actually lived here in some time. Like anywhere, you should choose carefully, but if you are from virtually anywhere in the country you'll be fine. Its a nice place.

That neighborhood in Roswell will be fine. Old folks are probably safer than the average resident, and the crime here, bad as it is, is actually better than Albuquerque's.

And I thought Albuquerque was pretty nice and safe.

One thing that surprised me is that even though Roswell is <20% the size of Albuquerque, it offers far greater than 20% of Albuquerque's amenities. There's less of a disconnect between farming and hard work and the general populace, and I think that can be nice. Prices are high here. People are doing well here. Despite Obama's lead in the statewide race, I don't think he has a snowball's chance in this county. That's just the way people are here.

A previous poster mentioned Lubbock was where everyone went to go get/do big city things. The place they go now is either a) Albuquerque (same distance away) or b) Dallas (1 hour flight). Lubbock, El Paso, Midland/Odessa, and Albuquerque are all 3 hours away.

The alien stuff is cheesy. And the UFO museum now charges $5 a person. But then again all tourist stuff is cheesy, and every city has cheesy tourist stuff (even Detroit). Looking at aliens around town is at least a bit more unique than say, steer heads, state flags, or even chile ristras.

Hope your folks enjoy it down here. People tend to be nicer and more down-to-earth here, on average.
