RUSTYCOWBOY is on a distinguished road
Howdy - I'm in Montana and tired of the cold and no business in the Winter. Looking to relocate to NM where there are tourists, artists and horse friendly and not too expensive. I have a western store in Montana and would love to recreate it somewhere. My store, The Rusty Cowboy is in that book "Off the beaten path". I guess I'll have to get a copy of it.

I think you'd love the Ruidoso area. Horses and cowboys are big here, it is a very nice resort town, and not too expensive. I bought 16 acres for $79k that is right next to a big BLM plot that borders the National Forest.

I have always favored the northeastern part of NM, then again I don't particularly care for tourists or their areas. Ruidoso is in a very nice area the contrast between it and Cloudcroft is amazing.

Would you be so kind and elaborate on the contrast between Ruidosa and Cloudcroft? I'm trying to learn all I can about areas of NM before I visit this summer. Many thanks.

Use the city search function on this website. It has more information than you can process.

WhiteSandsYucca is on a distinguished road
Santa Fe: Charming, very artsy enclave, adobe architecture, close to northern NM piney wildernesses, beautiful scenery that matches the famous "look" of New Mexico.

Albuquerque: Financinal center, sprawling, smaller version of Phoenix on the high desert, freeways and buildings

Las Cruces: College and retirement town, second largest city, lower desert (even some desert palm trees), close to White Sands Monument, very close to El Paso, has beautiful, jagged Organ Mountains hovering over the city, quiet yet plenty of activity.

I hope that helps!

Default New Mexico People

I think N.M. people are very Friendly if your thinking of living here explore and Rent for awhile because all of N.M. is beautiful depending on what your looking for. My Preference is the East Mountain area near Albuquerque and Santa Fe plus you have Access to the whole State and the East Mountains area has friendly people and lots of Activities in the Summer and Fall. Remember from the Center of N.M. to the Northern Part is Cold Weather Country and from the Central part south is warm weather with the Exception of Ruidoso and Cloudcroft. el pintada kid
