Event Info - The Pork & Brew is hosted by the Rio Rancho Convention and Visitors Bureau, and is a fully sanctioned Kansas City BBQ Society event - one of the top 10 events on the Society calendar. With close to 20,000 in attendance each year, Pork & Brew has become one of the largest events in New Mexico. Winners go on to participate in Kansas City, KS at the Nationals.
BBQ Bucks - What are BBQ Bucks? BBQ Bucks are the currency used to purchase any food items from vendors. BBQ Bucks must be purchased in advance at designated BBQ Bucks booths situated throughout the event. You may purchase in any amount starting at $1. All non food vendors as well as arts and crafts vendors are excluded and will accept cash.

Summer Market at Capulin Volcano National Monument
It's An Eruption of Regional Culture!
The first-ever Summer Market at Capulin Volcano National Monument (about 30 miles east of Raton) kicked off this past weekend (6/30) and will continue on Sunday July 14, Sunday July 28, and Sunday August 11. The Market is 10am-3pm, though the Park itself is open 8:30 to 5.
Artisans include Intergalactic Bread & Space Sauces from Santa Fe; Tapetas de Lana/Mora Valley Spinning & Weaving Center; Grampa's Gourmet Honey from Alamosa; Cherokee Soap Co. from Taos, Healing Plants out of Trinidad, and a contingent of tribal members from the Jicarilla Apache Nation in Dulce, offering their Fry Bread, Baskets, Micaceous Pottery, Beadwork, and The Butterfly Dancers youth.
July 14 featured performers are Rocky Mountain Celtic duo Willson & McKee from LaVeta, CO. Santa Fe's own Matthew Andrae is featured performer July 28. Cowboy crooner RW Hampton from Miami will be sharing his famous baritone on August 11.
Junior Ranger Programs will be held in our outdoor classroom, and sungazing via solar telescope is also offered.
Entrance to Market, Visitor Center, and Park Store are free. The drive up Volcano Road (2 miles) is always $5, unless you have a National Park/Access/Senior pass. Active military personnel are eligible for a free pass to all Federal lands.
The 8th Annual Mayor’s Sunday is Funday, which is now officially known as the Tony Popper Memorial Mayor’s Sunday is Funday, will take place on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Rio Rancho High School field, 301 Loma Colorado Blvd. Parking will be available at the high school for $3 per vehicle.
The theme for this year’s event is “Superheroes…Bullying Stops Here!” At this family style picnic, you’ll find musical entertainment, activities for kids, vendor booths, and inexpensive food items.

Skaters of all ages can take an active part in the sport, finding any number of challenges to inspire them to reach their individual goals - from a beginner class to world-class championship competition. This diversity, both in appeal and participants, has made roller figure skating the largest division of competitive roller skating in the United States.
