We have our share of nasty insects where we currently are, Bakersfield, CA, but since we are planning a move to Alb. in July, I, too am curious as to what kinds of critters to expect. Are the recluse spiders a problem?

We have black widows and I've heard of people getting bitten here by brown recluse, but not very often. We also have "assassin bugs" which are applied to crops to kill the crop-eating bugs, unfortunately, they are extremely aggressive and bite people too. Very small, but painful bites!

It's good to get some local know how on how to live with the rattlesnakes. I'm a bit phobic of them-love other snakes, but venomous ones tend to make me very nervous. Are they seen much around Alb.? I guess if you live with something long enough, you get used to it.

I am aware of the roach problem, but most of the apartment complexes I've been checking into, provide pest service. Any suggestions for the newcomers for dealing with local inhabitants?

Default Termites in Santa Fe?

How big of a problem are termites in Santa Fe? Do houses need to be treated for them?
