My uncle lives in La Luz and the other in Almagordo. I want to know more about it through other people. Like single mothers and christains. How is housing to rent, school, communtiy things to do, work, and the university.

There are many that live in Alamo or know about it. I would suggest you look up all past threads about Alamo and the areas around it. After you read the threads you will learn some of the info you asked about. Come back then and ask then. Many churches, single mothers are fine, and the college is adding classes. Other than that I would have to check on.

My son lived in Alamogordo for about 3 years while he was in the Air Force, so I got to spend some time there. I loved it and have considered moving there myself from Pennsylvania. I have wondered the same things as you, such as jobs, housing, etc. I do know that my rented a nice place for around 400.00 per month. Have you had any new information since your posting?

Currently, I live in Alamo. The weather is great here and I attend Bethel Baptist Church on Scenic. It's a great Church and you will love their TOTS program. You can get very involved and they are always looking for Moms that want to help out with the program. I personally know the director very well. Housing has actually sky rocketed b/c the German Air Force is also stationed here at Holloman AFB and always rents homes for 3 year leases. Currently I rent out one of my 4 bed 2.25 bath 1800 sq ft for $1400 a month and I'm placing another on the market for $1500 a month. Here is a link to the home:

You will love it here, the weather is just awesome. I have accepted a position back in GA so will be leaving in March. If you get here don't forget to check out Bethel and tell them Brad von Oven sent you, I sing all the time so most everyone should know me. Good luck with the move!
