I live in SW Colorado just 10 miles from the New Mexico line, we love cloudy days because we don't see many of them. Clouds and rain are always welcome in this drought stricken landscape. The clouds also provide respite from the extremely intense sun. Sun at high altitude is very intense so it feels really nice when a cloud passes over and provides a bit of shade for a while.

I was working in my yard in Rio Rancho this afternoon. Got pelted by cold water drops twice... Actually felt pretty good...

I think we are in the same area (UNM/Silver Hill?). We really got a downpour. It didn't last too long, but long enough for me to build a little fire on my porch and cook up a pot of tea. Hot tea in a rain storm at the end of summer is one of life's sublime pleasures.
