Default Grants a place of relocation interest.

So It seems that Grants is a good location for retirees and younger. It has always been the backyard for Albuquerque for recreation in hiking, biking, national forest adventures, and Pueblo culture experiences. The retirees are finding a nice home for a fraction of Albuquerque or St Fe. There is less traffic and generally the neighborhoods are quiet and safe. The not-retirees can find work with the four detention facilities, the power plant in Thoreau, the school system, or private enterprise. City officials are spending money on fixing up the roads in town and even the library had a shot in the arm. Still not a town growing on steroids, Grants has a friendly quietude that is rare in these days of hubbub and hobgoblin.

Give the Chamber of Commerce a call and talk to Robyn. She can hook you up with a real estate agent. Chamber- 505-287-4802. Homes vary from the $40K's up. You can't get much closer to native crafts. Crownpoint has a Navajo rug action every month now. ATV trails are becoming more popular but hiking is the best way to experience the NM outback with petroglyphs and ancient ruins among the forest and mountains. Not to forget the Malpais wilderness with all its mysteries and volcanic wonders.
