 Colonial Park
 Entrance to the Raintree Subdivision
Howdy, jrskarpe. I went out this morning and got some photos for you. The rest of them are in a folder at Picasa Web Albums - Clair - Northeast Nei.... The new houses are nice, but I sure love those established neighborhoods like Colonial Park and Northglen with all their trees, shrubs, and flowers.
Another very exquisite neighborhood is Sandzen, but I was afraid to drive around there taking pictures. I'll bet there is a security patrol. The houses there are huge (if that is good???) and all the grounds are looked after by meticulous gardeners. I ride my bike through just so I can go slowly enough to take it all in. Gorgeous landscaping...

Thank you for the information. We are planning a house hunting trip in July, so this helps focus our search. Clairz, thank you for the pictures, they both look like nice neighborhoods.

Check out Mesa, Yucca, and the new Territorial Estates in Portales. The upper "ABC" streets south of University are great. The drive is the same from Portales to CAFB as it is to much of Clovis- 20 minutes, and the town is a lot more charming, with the University crowd.

Thanks so much, Harry. I am working on another video that shows the neighborhoods and homes of Clovis. I hope to get it on YouTube and the Clovis News Journal website within the next couple of days. And after that there will be a photographic series of the churches, the public buildings, the murals, etc. etc.
I wish I could photograph the friendliness and kindness of the people--that's the best part of living here in "Little Texas"!

can someone give me a heads up about the house rental market? to be more specific-- nice, newer homes to rent. i've searched the web and looked at the classifieds in the local newspaper to no avail. just wondering if anyone who actually lives in clovis can provide a little more insight. we are an air force family that got "short noticed" with this move and, God willing, we should be moving as a family in july (if/when our house here sells). thanks so much!!

Kiwi, I will send you a direct message with some names. I don't believe that we are supposed to post business contact info here.

We will be looking for a home too. I hope to find a 1 story or something with a basement. and a large back yard with a shop. I have toys that need to be secured. Also have dogs . We are there for 2 years or so. I will rent the home out to military family's.

For 30-some-odd years I have visited my grandparents in Eastern NM (Pep, south of Portales) and never-ever knew so much about Clovis... like it has a zoo. Really, does it really? Cause next time I'm there - we are all loading up and going. Hmmm, I need to have a chat with Grandma & Grandpa. Nor did I know it had so much to offer!!
Thanks Clairz for opening the doors to Clovis for me - who knew?!?!? ;-)
