Go to the uscensus.gov and you should be able to find the break down for each state. I'll take a guess at it though..........
1) Las Cruces 2) Rio Rancho 3) Albuquerque 4) Los Lunas 5) Alamogordo 6) Farmington 7) Santa Fe 8) Ruidoso 9) Deming 10) Clovis Remember those are guesses, and there based on percentage growth. Abq by far added the most people. |

Las Cruces -- no surprise -- a boom area ABQ Farmington Santa Fe -- no surprise -- the water policies are slow growth policies, intentionally or not Las Cruces ranks 37th among fastest-growing metro areas - Las Cruces Sun-News If you mean city, the political jurisdiction, I don't know . The two answers above are for city, the political jurisdiction. I would guess that Santa Fe the city doesn't make the list -- not clear that it is growing at all. |

If you are going by city only, Rio Rancho is clearly growing the fastest. Las Cruces is booming, but does not have the population base to support the kind of growth in Rio Rancho or the other Albuquerque suburbs.
I don't have any statistics, but since the oil boom started up again in earnest, I would imagine Hobbs and Farmington have seen some rapid recent growth. |

, but I wonder why Ruidoso doesn't make the list. The Wikipedia entry for Ruidoso is "11,210 in the 2005 census estimate"Ruidoso, New Mexico - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Is there some sort of legal definition of city for NM and Ruidoso doesn't qualify? Does anybody know? ![]() |

Okay, I was able to gather the info from the US Census Bureau. I only included cities with at a minimum population of 5,000 residents. Not to toot my own horn, but my guess above was pretty darn good ( 8 out of 10, and slightly different order).
